Babies Who Lunch

On occasion I get such cabin fever that Ruby and I will get our courage up to go out to lunch. This usually goes well as she is super well behaved and enjoys restaurants because she gets to make eyes at all of the other patrons. We cannot however control the mess factor.

The giant PB&J sandwiches at Panera or greasy grilled cheese at Five Guys are partly to blame, I mean who calculates the amount of jelly or cheese that is needed to satisfy a small child? Sometimes I really wonder. But then I think that the person spreading the highly stainable grape jelly on my child's sandwich, so thick it could keep generations of ant colonies alive, probably does not have a toddler or they would think twice before applying the shellac that is restaurant jelly.

When we are done eating it is always a mad dash to the bathroom where inevitably my fancy ladies who lunch outfit (anything non sweat pants qualifies) is ruined in the process while she grasps on to me with jelly or cheese grease fingers. Until now. Now that I have found the dining set by Shoots and Ladders Co., we are out the door prepared and stylish of course.

The dining set is a handy little case that closes with simple Velcro. It stocks a re-usable fork and spoon, and has 2 spots for either wipes, a bib, or crayons and paper to keep them busy (this is my own little evolution). The 7 fabric choices are too cute and you may have a mental breakdown choosing which one you want, but let me tell you this- stick the dining set in your handbag or diaper bag and at least you will never have a mental breakdown in your favorite restaurant!
